Service Description

Our wound care program provides comprehensive treatment to help wounds heal and restore function. Our wound care specialist and team provides evidence-based interventions including individualized wound dressing selection, conservative debridement, compression therapy, nutritional education, and negative pressure wound therapy, commonly referred to as wound VAC therapy. Coastal’s approach goes beyond treating the wound itself. By combining specialized wound care with physical therapy, we address the person as a whole including mobility, strength, edema, circulation, positioning, and other factors that may influence healing to promote wound closure, restore function, and reduce the risk of recurrence. We provide specialized care for a variety of wounds including: -diabetic foot ulcers -pressure injuries -leg ulcers and edema associated wounds -surgical wounds -traumatic wounds -burns -and other complex wounds A referral is not always required to begin treatment for most insurances, though requirements may vary. When beneficial, we coordinate with physicians and other healthcare providers to create a patient-centered plan of care and team.
